Nosferatu acting

The over acting in this film was ridiculous, even for a silent film the actors were way over the top. I couldn't get over Ellen’s reaction to the dead flowers. It was as if she found her child dead with her shocked look and overwhelming sadness that she had to fall into Hutters arms for an extended time. Unless you’re Mike staring at E.T.s dying flowers there is no reason to be heartbroken over flowers.
The actor playing the Hutter played his emotions to the stereotypical idea of how they should look. His scared face went from wide eyes to his mouth making different Ah! movements before he threw a sheet over his head as a frightened child would. The fear and panic the actor meant to show came across as a comedic skit. Then there is the mob scene where all the townsmen are frantically trying to catch this one guy and peoples arms are flailing and there heads are spinning in every direction until someone points which way to run. No real person runs like that even in a panicked mob search. The acting in this film was highly unrealistic and because of that the film was very difficult to watch and enjoy.
